Twitter's co-founder and former chief executive Ivan Williams will exit the company's board of directors by the end of this month. The company gave its information to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. Williams said in the information, "It's been a fantastic 13 years and I am proud that during my tenure, Twitter has achieved a lot." Williams is leaving Twitter to pay attention to other projects.
Significantly, the chief executive officer of the micro-blogging site Twitter, Jack Dorsi will not appear before the parliamentary committee on information technology (IT) on February 25. In their place, Twitter's public policy chief Colin Crowell will be sent.
The parliamentary committee on IT had asked Twitter chief Jack Dorsey to appear before the committee on February 25 and refused to meet with the company's "junior officers". This meeting is taking place at a time when concerns about the interference of people in the country through data protection and social media forums are increasing.
Twitter spokesman said in a statement sent by e-mail on Friday, "We thank the parliamentary committee for inviting you to listen to Twitter's views on the safety of citizens' rights on social media and online news platforms."
